1. The shampoo does not seem to have as much lather/foam as other shampoos. Why is this so?
Suu Balm’s shampoo is soap and sulfate-free, and uses very gentle cleansing ingredients so that it does not strip the scalp of moisture and cause irritation. However, these ingredients don’t produce as much lather or foam as harsher ingredients do. Just because there is no lather or foam, it doesn’t mean that it does not do its job in removing dirt and oil!
2. Does the shampoo cleanse well since it doesn’t foam up?
Our shampoo was designed to be gentle for sensitive scalps, but the mild surfactants that were specially selected still ensure thorough cleansing of dirt and oil.
3. If I don’t have dandruff, can I use this shampoo?
Yes, you can! The menthol in the shampoo helps to cool down your scalp especially in hot weather, and the triple-effect
moisturising agents in the shampoo will help to moisturise the scalp and condition your hair. This helps to keep your hair soft and manageable, without the usage of silicones! The anti-dandruff actives would not negatively affect scalps that are dandruff-free.
4. What are the benefits of using a silicone-free shampoo?
Silicones form a thin, waterproof coating around your hair cuticle. If not properly washed off, they block hydrating ingredients from moisturizing the hair. It can take several washes to remove the silicone deposits. Many other shampoos include silicones to reduce tangles, but Suu Balm’s shampoo provides hair softness/smoothness through conditioning agents instead.
5. Can this shampoo be used on children or babies?
Suu Balm’s shampoo was formulated for adults, with a cooling menthol effect to relieve itch. Babies and children might be more sensitive to this menthol sensation, and it is advised to test out tolerance via a small test patch.
