The Suu Balm Story

Our mission is simple, to soothe dry and itchy skin.

Suu Balm began when Dr. Tey Hong Liang, founder of the Itch Clinic at the National Skin Centre in Singapore, saw that existing creams were not doing enough to (1) relieve itch fast and (2) effectively moisturise the skin. With this in mind, Dr. Tey combined the natural itch relieving and cooling power of menthol with a high concentration of a ceramide based moisturiser to create the original Suu Balm.

In 2015, alongside the pharmaceutical expertise of Dr. John O’Shea and Jason Humphries from Good Pharma Dermatology, Suu Balm was brought to the rest of the world. Uncompromising in their delivery of only the highest performing and carefully chosen ingredients, Suu Balm prioritises meeting the needs of customers over profit.

Research data shows that over 90% of original Suu Balm cream users experienced relief from their itch within five minutes of application, and over 90% of Suu Balm wash users love its moisturising and gentle cooling effect. Today, Suu Balm product range includes face and body creams, cleansers, sprays and even a special line dedicated to childrens’ care, with more innovative and environmentally responsible products in the pipeline.

Discovery of a rapid itch relieving formula

Dr. Tey Hong Liang, Chief Dermatologist at the Itch Clinic at National Skin Centre in Singapore, spent years continuously searching for a formula that could answer the specific needs of rapid itch relief and effective moisturising, so common yet so hard to fulfil.

After numerous tests and formulations, he discovered the one combination that truly worked wonders: menthol, a natural ingredient, combined with deeply moisturising skin-identical ceramides, to provide instant itch relief and improved moisturising effectiveness.

Research-led Products

Suu Balm is the result of intense and methodical research. At Suu Balm, we support and encourage further research. With every purchase of Suu Balm, we contribute back to the research funding at the National Skin Centre.

In addition, all of our products are subjected to clinical testing prior to launch, to ensure that they are safe and effective for our patients and customers to use.

Making Suu Balm available to everyone

The goal of the National Skin Centre was to make Suu Balm available to everyone suffering from dry, itchy and sensitive skin in Singapore and beyond - not just those attending the hospital. Dr John O’Shea and Jason Humphries, founded Good Pharma Dermatology and entered into partnership with NSC to help realise this goal.

Together they have built the Suu Balm brand to help liberate people all over the world from the frustrations of dry, itchy and sensitive skin.

While using only the best quality, most gentle, and highest functioning ingredients means the products will never be cheap, we strive to provide value for money to our customers; you will get results for the price you pay for Suu Balm.
